Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Northville Township, in conjunction with the cities of Northville and Livonia, has scheduled its Spring Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection for: 
 
Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Ford Field in Livonia
(14281 Farmington, enter at Stark Rd entrance) 
 
The HHW collection runs from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is open to Northville Township, City of Northville and City of Livonia residents only. Items that will be accepted include aerosol cans, antifreeze, any household chemicals, batteries (automobile, marine, household), caustic liquids/acids, computer equipment, fire extinguishers, fluorescent light bulbs, gasoline, gasoline and oil mixes, herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, fungicides, kerosene, medical waste (sharp items in containers only), mercury items and mercury-contaminated debris, oil based paints* and stains, primer, propane tanks, transmission fluid, turpentine and varnish. All waste must be from residential sources.  

To help keep the cost down to ensure future Hazardous Waste Days, we encourage you to combine your hazardous waste with your neighbors since the Township is charged per car load.

Compost 
 
Free clean compost for your home gardens and lawns is available on the first Tuesday of the month from April until November. It is available at the parking lot of the Water and Sewer Maintenance Facility, located at 16225 Beck Rd. There is a 30 gallon limit per household.
